For these, I did get a lyric sheet in the CD -- though there wasn't one in the audiocassette I had originally when it first came out.

    Glass Mountain

I'm tryin' to work it out all by myself
I'm tryin' to work it out all by myself
    But it's gettin' so hard
    It's gettin' so hard
I'm slidin' down the glass mountain.

I'm tryin' to make some sense of life
    You know what I mean
I'm tryin' to make some sense of life
    But it's gettin' so hard
    It's gettin' so hard
I'm slidin' down the glass mountain.

    The Waste Land

Check your windows and lock your doors
Watch it, baby, 'cos you'll get yours
    In the Wasteland

Check your basements and check your roofs
The midnight gambler, he leaves no proof
    In the Wasteland

    I'm comin' closer
    I'm gonna get you
    You better better
    Watch out, baby
    I'm comin' in there
    I'm gonna get you

    Leave It All to Me

Life extracts its toll all right
We all feel lonely, now ain't that right
So darlin' don't forget to call
'Cos you can leave it all to me.

    Everyone can make mistakes
Some people give and some people take
So when it's bad, for goodness sake
You can leave it all to me

Do you ever wonder if I'm still in love with you
Just take a look at my face
And you'll see what I'm going through

    Let your problems disappear
    You won't feel them
    Never fear
    So if in doubt
    Give me a shout
And you can leave it all to me

Ah, now do you ever wonder if I'm still in love with you
Just take a look at my face
And you'll see that my feeling's true

We all feel lonely, now ain't that right
So darlin' don't forget to call
'Cos you can leave it all to me.

    Hungry for Love

    I'm hungry for love
    I ain't ate a thing all week
    I'm hungry for love
I'm tired of playin' hide and seek
So, honey, won't you be my baby tonight
You and I will put out the light
    Make no mistake
    Because I'm hungry for love

I can feel it right now
I can feel it darlin', in my bones
I can feel it right now
I'm tired of bein' on my own
So turn on the radio and let it blast
I just wanna get it while it lasts
    Make no mistake
    Because I'm hungry for love

I Know When I've Had Enough

Oh, yes, I like my ladies
Oh, Yes, I like my girls
Oh yes, I like to take them with me all around the world
But I know when I've had enough
Yes, I know when I've had enough
Yes, I know when I've had enough
    And baby, that's now.

Oh yes, I like a drink
    And I like some company
And I like to drink with my friends 'cos it makes me feel so free
But I know when I've had enough
Yes, I know when I've had enough
Yes, I know when I've had enough
    And baby, that's now.

Oh, yes, I like good music
And I like it loud and strong
I like good music 'cos it shows me when I'm wrong
But I know when I've had enough
Yes, I know when I've had enough
Yes, I know when I've had enough
    And baby, that's now.

Oh, yes, I like my money
And all the things it brings to me
But it seems all the hands are grasping out saying give it to me
Yes, I know when I've had enough
Yes, I know when I've had enough
Yes, I know when I've had enough
    And baby, that's now.

    Shouts Across the Street

    Under the pale September moon
    Children laugh and drunkards croon
Girls dressed up for their temporary men
The red light's shining, so they do it once again

    Shouts across the street
    Shouts across the way
    Hey baby, let's play trick-or-treat
How did a little girl like you
    Get down on this street?

One room furnished and the other bare
Except for a table and a lonely chair
A photograph of home, a broken cup
I won't come too close 'cos you're all shook up

    Shouts across the street
    Shouts across the way
You have to cry, beg, steal or borrow
    Forget about today
    And dream about tomorrow

    Under the warm September sun
Another night has come and gone
Young lady's sleeping, restless in her bed
She's so strung out and there's echoes in her head
    Of

    Shouts across the street
    Shouts across the way
There's no place left to go
    No place left to see
Spend the afternoon watching reruns on TV...

    I Just Got Love

    I can't dance
Do any of those stupid things
    I don't smile
    Can't talk about anything
I just got love, I just got love, I just got love
I just got love, I just got love, I just got love

    I can't write
There's no letters with my name
    I'm not bright
But I reckon that we're all the same
I just got love, I just got love, I just got love
I just got love, I just got love, I just got love

    I can't sing
Except if it's out of tune
    I can't rhyme
Unless there is a moon in June
I just got love, I just got love, I just got love
I just got love, I just got love, I just got love

You know I just got love
    I ain't got no money...
I just got love, love, love, love...

    Don't Stop
[in which Alan goes a bit Barry White on us....]

Don't stop what you're doin' to me
Baby, 'cos I like what you're doin' to me
    Baby, baby, baby
    Baby, baby, baby
    I like what you do
    Baby, baby, baby
    Baby, baby, baby
    It's all down to you

So, don't stop, that's what livin' is for
    Don't stop, I can't ignore you
    Baby, baby, baby
    Baby, baby, baby
    I like what you do
    Baby, baby, baby
    Baby, baby, baby
    It's all down to you...

(repeat verse 1...such as it is)

I make fun, but I actually love this song. Which shows how far gone I am.

The World's Going Down on Me

    Paper money in dirty hands
Paper faces stretching across the land
Dirty children kissed by battered wives
    Lovely people living lonely lives

I see the world's going down on me
I see the world's sinking in the sea
I feel the world's growing tired of me
You can't imagine what I see

I see the world's going down on me
I see the world's sinking in the sea
I feel the world's growing tired of me
You can't imagine what I see

We're all just numbered and behave like sheep
What you work for you can never keep
I would like to meet the man in charge
Give him this message 'cos it's written large

I see the world's going down on me
I see the world's sinking in the sea
I feel the world's growing tired of me
You can't imagine what I see

    Cherie

This is a song I wrote all on my own in Marylebone.

I wanna howl like a dog
That's left out in the pouring rain
It's such a shame you don't want me
    Shame you don't need me
Will I ever be the same
Same boy who used to wait outside your door
Who had never been in love before
    Cherie, Cherie, Cherie

I wanna wail like a seabird
    Flying on the ocean wind
It's such a shame you don't want me
    Shame you don't need me
Will I ever be the same
Same boy who used to wait outside your door
Who had never been in love before
    Cherie, Cherie, Cherie

    (repeat verse 1)

    Don't Try

You were always good at showing tears
I've learned how you do it through the years
I was caught before and you made me change my mind
Now please don't try to stop me
    I'm never gonna stay behind

Don't try to make me change my mind
Don't try, I'm leaving it all behind
'Cos I've seen what I have to see
That a wrong's been done to me

Now you try to tell me all along
You knew I was doing wrong
    Well, shame on you
    Shame on you
Now you want me to stay by your side
    Keep you loved and satisfied
    It's too late
    It's too late

I'm leaving now, now, leaving now
I'm leaving now, leaving now, leaving now

So don't try to make me change my mind
Don't try, I'm leaving it all behind
'Cos I've seen what I have to see
That a wrong's been done to me

Please don't try to unpack my bags
I'd rather walk around in rags
'Cos it's all down to you
    It's down to you
Please believe me when I say
I'd rather watch a football game than look at you
    Look at you

Don't try to make me change my mind
Don't try, I'm leaving it all behind
'Cos I've seen what I have to see
That a wrong's been done to me
That a wrong's been done to me
That a wrong's been done to me

[Hmmm...I do believe that Alan would rather watch a football game...]

    Farewell, Goodbye

    Farewell, goodbye
    I hope I didn't make you cry
I'll see you soon some sunny day
    Baby, we'll play

    Goodbye for now
I tried to do my best somehow
And we'll see if soon some sunny day
    Baby, we'll play

    Farewell, goodbye
    I hope I didn't make you cry
I'll see you soon some sunny day
    Baby, we'll play

What more is there for me to say
Please remember me some rainy day
For all good things must fade away
    Fade away....
