    Hi Everyone :)

I've posted the cover artwork of some Alan Price LPs and CDs. (I grabbed all of these from the internet, so the sizes are not uniform. As I learn more about this, I'll come back and adjust the sizes.) I hope you enjoy seeing these.

WOW :D GREAT STUFF!! I'll try to take a few snaps soon -- that is, if I can find anything you guys haven't already posted!

I have to say, Alan's record company didn't always come up with the best graphic designs for these singles.
That half-cartoon for "Simon Smith" has always made me cringe.

    8-Track tape

The 8-Track tape of "Savaloy Dip" was a remarkable find. I'm sure that dozens of other record wholesalers had climbed the same warehouse shelves, un-stacked and re-stacked the same pallets, and dug through the same cases of LPs, cassettes and 8-Tracks as I did - but a dusty box of Alan Price 8-Track tapes meant nothing to them! For me, it was like finding the Holy Grail. I tossed the whole box (24 tapes) into my pile and tried not to let my excitement show as my finds for the day were priced and loaded into my van. I didn't even own an 8-Track player at the time, so I had to purchase one just to transfer "Savaloy Dip" onto cassette!

And my poker-face ploy worked! The warehouse manager, who seemingly arbitrarily assigned costs to all items retreived from the huge, unorganized and un-priced inventory, scratched his head, looked at me a little strangely, and then threw the case of 8-Tracks into the 25 cent pile. I think I may still have a few extra copies stashed away with other collectible items somewhere in one of my storage units... but where?

(Note that the title song had to be broken into 2 parts because of the time limitations of 8-Track tape technology.) (Can I actually use the words "8-Track tape" and "technology" in the same sentence??)

That's tremendous at 25 cents!! What a great find.
Well done for saving a bit of history.

Omigod!! YOU were the one who rescued those 8-tracks from oblivion? I'd heard that story about the AP collector who dug a box of Savaloy Dip tapes out of the rubbish heap just before they were discarded and lost to history -- AND IT WAS YOU, TONY???? Now I am seriously impressed. (As if I weren't already...) :D
