Hey! you have all been so busy on the lyrics I can't keep up with you....

I will play Savaloy Dip on my pc while I am on my computer later and hope I will be able to hear the missing/difficult words.

I have to log off now to cook my husband's tea  and then I will spend some time on another forum where I am
moderator - I have to keep checking that all is ok on there :)

After that I hope to get back on APFF Lyrics.

It Smells Like Lemon and It Tastes Like Wine

I was on the dole and I bought myself a newspaper
Opened up the page and I read my horoscope
It said Play your cards right, you’ll meet a dark stranger
It took away my cares and it filled me up with hope
    What a dope
    All that soft soap

    Really there was no hope
    Sadly so

Come out, come out, wherever you are
The game is up, you wanna be a star
Now you’ve gotta learn how to take your time
When it smells like lemon and it tastes like wine

Meanwhile further on a day later sure enough
Along came a stranger with a sideways look
I shared out my food and my money and my clothes
When I woke up in the morning everything had been took
    By a crook
    I’d been forsook
    Now look

Come out, come out, wherever you are
The game is up, you wanna be a star
But you’ve gotta learn how to take your time
When it smells like lemon and it tastes like wine

I saw a fine face, a good face of mine,
She was standing and a-smiling and she waved me down
Feeling pretty strange so I didn’t try to make it
But before I knew’t she’s out the car and she was outta town
    She put me down
    She made me frown
    I’m down
    Look around

Come out, come out, wherever you are
The game is up, you wanna be a star
But you’ve gotta learn how to take your time
When it smells like lemon and it tastes like wine

    **I saw a kind face, a good-looking stranger, ** [?]
She was standing and a-smiling and she waved me down
Feeling pretty strange so I didn’t try to make it
But before I knew it she’s out the car and she was outta town
    She put me down
    She made me frown
    I’m down
    Look around

Come out, come out, wherever you are
The game is up, you wanna be a star
But you’ve gotta learn how to take your time
When it smells like lemon and it tastes like wine

    Story of my life
    That’s why I ain’t got no wife
    All the trouble and strife
    It cuts like a knife
I’ve been around the world it’s true
Looking for someone exactly like you….

Now I'm down in love it's true
    She put me down
    Made me frown
Look out, look out where ever you are
    The game is up
Everybody wants to be a star
But you've got to learn how to take your time
When it smells like lemon and it tastes like wine

    Hotcha! Hotcha! Babe
    So true
    Now that's my baby

Come out , come out, where ever you are
The game is up you wanna be a star
And you've gotta learn how to take your time
When it smells like lemon and it tastes like wine
    ..... ooo---ooo---oo

Come out, come out, where ever you are
The game is up you wanna be a star
You've got to learn how to take your time
When it smells like lemon and it tastes like wine
    When it smells like lemon
    When it smells like lemon
    When it smells like lemon
    When it smells like lemon
    When it smells like lemon
    When it smells like lemon
    and it tastes like wine.............

I saw a fine face, a good face of mine, - this bit doesn't somehow sound right.

    **I saw a kind face, a good-looking stranger, ** [?] - this bit sounds ok Holly - can't hear anything
different but he sings a lot of this very quickly doesn't he.

I have just spent half an hour or so listening over and over
and the above is what I hear. I've put my added bits in italics
so do you agree with it???

If you do I can put it on the list

    Thta's all for tonight :)
Will try to do another one tomorrow.

Could it be "I saw a fine face, a good face, oh my"?

Otherwise your changes look fine. I'll edit my post.

Yes, that looks more sensible Holly.

I've moved all the discussions about lyrics onto here now. Phew!!

Takes a lot of time to keep moving from one thread to the other when I am still on dial-up.
I ordered Broadband 16th November and was told it would be installed by 21st December but I am still waiting.........

I think it will make things a bit easier when BB finally installed as it shouldn't take so much time.

Tomorrow I hope to have time to post a few more lyrics from another of my albums :)
And you've posted some Holly that I have to add to the A-Z haven't you?
