Stop In and Read My Blog
I've just started a daily weblog about the songs I'm listening to, and I'd love it if any of you have time to read it and let me know what you think. Here's the link:

http://www.thesonginmyheadtoday.blogspot.com

I haven't yet written about any Alan/Animals songs -- I'm waiting until I've built up a little readership. I'll let you know if I do!

You can leave it all to me...

That's just great Holly.
More Alan song blogs please biggrin

Just haven't had time to read many of the others but perhaps when

Thanks! At the moment I don't want to be too obvious about writing about the same artists over and over -- but I can probably sneak in an Animals entry soon!

I have a new entry about the Animals, about "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood." I didn't even mention Alan once! wink That way I can write about him as a solo artist sooner.

If you register as a Google account, you can post comments....

This entire month I am writing about the British Invasion bands of 1964-66. Check in and read what I've written! I started today with Love Me Do -- had to start with the Beatles -- but I'm sure that those of a certain age will know and remember ALL these bands!

Yesterday (Saturday 5th May) I wrote about We Gotta Get Out Of This Place. I do indeed know that the Animals did that AFTER Alan left, but it's still an excellent track. I made sure to mention Alan in the essay anyway!

Your Blog is superb Holly, always delightful to read.

The Kinks bit was good too, of course, and reminded me of when I saw Ray Davies on TV a few months ago
and he was asked to sing 'Sunny Afternoon' to which he reluctantly agreed and then turned and in a low voice
said to one of the band behind him, "I hate singing that" ( lol)

As for Ray being Knighted - I agree with you but not always easy.

Before Alan was 60, hoping for something to happen for his birthday, I spent about six months getting
support from everybody I could think of, which included MPs, well-known producers etc and compiled a
dossier which I sent to the Prime Minister's Office asking for him to be included in the Honours list.
They acknowledged receipt but I heard nothing after that (which is normal procedure).
I was just googling and find that re-nominations can be sent in after 18 months.................
well.......... that's interesting wink

For you..........................................................................I'll do it all just for you.

Thanks, Bassett! Some entries take more work than others. It's really helpful when I have a "Best Of" compilation CD that has really good liner notes, or when I can locate an excellent fan website. Like ours here!
